The Panthers soccer teams hosted a doubleheader against the Bloodhounds of John Jay College last week to kickoff the new season. While the women’s team found success in their opening game with a shutout victory, the men were not as fortunate.

After an 18-month hiatus, Purchase College’s most vegetarian-friendly eatery, Terra Ve, has reopened for the fall semester. With some renovations on display both in and outside the building, students returned to the facility on Monday to see if the wait was worth it.

Purchase students gained some new ground to walk on as the Campus Center North area of the mall was fully renovated, complete with new pavement, benches, and greenery. The new mall is part of a modern reconstruction of the campus that is still underway.

“I just wish it would happen faster,” said Kaitlyn Raitz, senior music. “It took a whole year just for one section.”

I'm selling a pair of dark brown classic Doc Marten's, size 8 in men's, 9.5 for women.  They've been gently used.  I'm selling them for $75 but open to some haggling.  Can deliver them on campus or ship.

Purchase College will receive $50,000 to purchase Emergency Blue Light phones for a more secure campus, Chief of Police Joe Olenik said in an e-mail. The grant was approved by the Dormitory Authority, Olenik said, after the college applied for it over two years ago.

Terra Ve will open. These were the words used by Chartwells Senior Director of Dining Services Nick Mennillo when asked about the campus eatery, which has been closed for over a year due to construction and renovations.
