The Print Shop

The Purchase College Print shop is located directly across from the Office of Publications on Lincoln Avenue between the underpasses. The Print shop is equipped with 2 two-color offset printing presses.

Jobs where you can work directly with the Print Shop:

  • Reprints (re-printing an exact piece that was originally printed in the Print Shop)
  • One-color and simple two-color jobs without photography. You will be asked to supply high-quality laser print outs in order for the Print shop to make film negatives.

Jobs where you will probably need Publications Services

  • If you’re producing a publication that involves photography, illustration, or sophisticated graphics, the Print Shop requires supplied film.
  • In other words, you work with an outside vendor to generate film to be used on the Print Shop presses. The Office of Publications can help you.

Please Note:
It’s easiest for us to help you get the film you need if your publication is produced on a Macintosh computer in QuarkExpress. We’ve had some success getting film for jobs produced in Quark and PageMaker on a PC. However, because we don’t use PC-based systems, we’re unable to intervene and correct problems. That’s why it’s important for you to contact Publications staff if you’re planning to produce a publication and want it to be printed in the Purchase College Print Shop.

  • Dummy sample required on jobs with multiple pages
  • If you choose to use a second color where the 2 colors do not overlap each other, design your piece so the 2nd color is an "accent" color, i.e., for headings

  • Film must be supplied color separated
