Workshop in Metal Sculpture
An exploration of sculptural form making, using a variety of metalworking techniques, including shearing, bending, forging, and welding. Emphasis is placed on the evolution of each participant’s sculptural ideas, using metalworking skills as a means of materializing those ideas. Twentieth-century art historical movements and concepts within the tradition of welded steel sculpture are examined through slide presentations and class discussions.
