Minor in Media, Society, and the Arts

The minor in media, society, and the arts is designed to provide students with a broad knowledge and understanding of theories and methods of analysis of media and the arts, while at the same time allowing for skill development in an art form. Students interested in the minor should submit a completed Application for a Program of Minor Study to the coordinator of the Media, Society, and the Arts Program.

Academic Requirements for the Minor in Media, Society, and the Arts

  1. MSA 1530/Introduction to Media, Society, and the Arts (3 credits)
  2. Three electives; at least two of these must be taught by faculty in the Media, Society, and the Arts Board of Study (9–12 credits)
  3. At least 4 credits in studio art and/or media production courses
