Bihter came to Purchase from Istanbul, Turkey, where she had already committed herself to art making. 

Her work ranges from painting and drawing to sculpture installations and performance, sometimes incorporating sound and video. 

Much of her work derives from her interest in myth, analytical psychology of C.G. Jung, and the interplay of the unconscious and the rational mind.  She is currently working on her Senior Project, a series of paintings based on these diverse interests.
