Public Safety Officer

Description:  Enforce NY State and Campus Parking laws and regulations including: assist University Police with special events, enforcement initiatives and traffic details, collection of parking fees and fines, assisting at Traffic Review Board Hearings, staffing parking entry points and collecting daily fees, transport and escort services; foot patrol, building patrol, and securing /opening of buildings. Position also requires Dispatch duties including emergency and non emergency radio transmissions, answering emergency and non emergency phones, monitoring security cameras,  DMV/NYSPIN inquiries, and operates fire / burglar alarm systems. Assist University Police as appropriate.  Performs additional duties as assigned.  Will be certified in CPR/AED and may have to perform such task.                                                                     

Qualifications: High School Graduate.  Possession of a NY State Security Guard Certification (unarmed) is required.  Must have the ability to communicate well with others and work independently as well as part of a team in a vigorous work environment.  Hours must be flexible as we operate on a 24-hour schedule.  Must be able to work holidays & weekends.

Salary: $30,676
