Helpdesk Technician

 

Department: Campus Technology Services

 

Description: Purchase College seeks Helpdesk Technician to support campus technology operations. Responsibilities include providing high-level technical support for College faculty, staff, and students. This position will also be required to write documentation and provide end user training as necessary. Position will provide a variety of technical and customer support services, including installing, configuring, troubleshooting Mac and PC problems, network problems and software problems, and maintaining both Macintosh and Windows desktop computers and printers in a networked environment. Some night and/or weekend hours may be required.

 

Qualifications: Demonstrated strong experience supporting Mac and Windows computers in a networked environment; ability to install and configure computer hardware and software; ability to perform minor repairs of hardware; experience troubleshooting network problems with a variety of personal computers. The successful candidate must work well under pressure, possess excellent customer service skills, and be able to work collegially and effectively in a team environment. A bachelor’s degree -or- one-year full-time previous work experience supporting desktop computers is preferred, but not required. Previous experience working in higher education is highly desirable.

 

Please note: this is a one-year full-time temporary position.

 

Salary: $40,000
