Draper/ Workroom Supervisor

Description:  The Conservatory of Theatre Arts& Film at Purchase College, SUNY, seeks a full time- draper for its Design/ Technology Program.  Responsibilities include supervision and instruction of student costume technology and design majors (BFA AND MFA level), serve as Head Draper on all costume shop supported productions as assigned by the Costume Shop Supervisor, establish work room methodology and organization that supports pedagogy taught in Costume Construction and Design courses, assist other costume shop staff in basic shop maintenance and organization, teach one construction course in the Design/Technology Program. 

Qualifications:  MFA in Costume Construction and at least 5 years of professional experience desired, will consider BFA with sufficient experience, prior teaching experience a plus.

Special Note: This position has a 10- month work obligation with excellent full year benefits, beginning September 1, 2008.  Some evening and weekends required. 

Salary: $44,000
