Via the Project Focus Partnership Program, the Office of Student Life offers an internship experience built on service and volunteerism. Internships are worth 4 credits and counts as part of one's internship credit allowance.
Interns will first learn about the challenges involved in urban education from scarcity of resources to academic achievement inconsistencies. Then, interns will have an opportunity to participate in visits to partnership sites ranging from middle and high schools to community centers. During these visits, interns will facilitate workshops on such topics as college readiness, goal setting and leadership development. Visits are either weekly or bi-weekly.
